EDGE RESTRAINT

Metal forms designed to retain growing media and aggregate drainage core in the planted area of a green roof. A metal edge restraint allows drainage of overflow storm water through the media layer to roof drains outside the planted area through our specifically designed slotted template. We provide Edge Restraint in design specifications from 2 ½” high to over 20” high  allow the retention of media depth above the standard Extensive green roof media depth of 6”.
GRS Edge Restraint is manufactured in 96” straight edge and 96” flex edge for that unique round or curved roof garden design specification. Edge restraint is supplied with corners and connection accessories to complete a stable installation. We manufacture in 10 gauge, Aluminum 5052, 16 gauge, Stainless Steel 304 and 11 gauge copper. Other metal thickness can be specified. Slot designs provide optimal flow of water that exits thru the drainage core of a green roof system.
GRS Edge Restraint can be laid on the waterproofing membrane where a Root Barrier is not required. The weight of the Green Roof Media profile will hold the Edge Restraint in place if the Edge is connected via the connection accessories at the end of each piece. Where the horizontal side is less than 2 /3rds the length of the vertical side, an adhesive can be used to secure the edge restraint to the Root Barrier, Drainage panel or Water proofing layer for added support.

Connection Accessories-
Clips- 2”x 4” and 3.5” x 4”, slotted in Aluminum, Stainless and Copper. These are designed to hold the edge in place while full system is assembled.
Corners- Preformed corners in a slightly lower gauge to allow forming onsite to corners less than 90 degrees. Each side is slotted for bolt access.
Bolts- All connections are supplied with stainless ¼” bolt sets and washers.
