WIND EROSION BLANKET AND ANCHORS
Our Erosion blanket is designed to inhibit wash out and wind scow of the light Extensive Growth Media during the establishment phase of a newly planted Green Roof. The blanket is a woven biodegradable hemp and coconut coir product that is held in place by our patented anchor system made of polycarbonate and steel.
The anchor is a ½" polycarbonate tier with a 4" base that sits on the aggregate layer or filter fabric layer in deeper media profiles. The base is covered with growth media and the tier stands up above the top of the media. After the media has been leveled, the Blanket is spread over the top and the tiers are allowed to penetrate the blanket edges where rows of erosion blanket overlap. The steel disc is slid down the tier holding the blanket in place. The blanket can then be sliced open at intervals for inserting plugs of the roof top plantings.
Roof Garden maintenance crews will remove the discs and trim the extended tiers after full establishment has been achieved. Excess blanket material can be collected and responsibly recycled.
